Care Instructions

Simple care guidance to help your ToldPrint™ apparel, tote bags, caps and accessories last longer.

Care instructions can vary by product, material and print method. Always check the product page or care label first.

General care guidelines

  • Always follow the product-specific care instructions shown on the product page or care label.
  • Wash similar colours together to reduce colour transfer.
  • Use mild detergent and avoid harsh chemicals unless the product page says otherwise.
  • Turn printed garments inside out before washing to help protect the artwork.
  • Avoid ironing directly over printed or embroidered designs.
  • Do not overload bags beyond normal everyday use.

Different products may require different care. T-shirts, sweatshirts, caps and tote bags should not all be treated the same way.

Printed apparel

  • Machine wash cold, preferably at 30°C / 90°F or lower.
  • Wash inside out to help protect printed artwork.
  • Use a gentle cycle where possible.
  • Tumble dry low or air dry for best long-term results.
  • Do not iron directly over the print.
  • Avoid bleach and strong stain removers unless the product page allows them.

Hoodies and sweatshirts

  • Machine wash cold with similar colours.
  • Turn inside out before washing if the item has printed artwork.
  • Tumble dry low or air dry to help reduce shrinkage and preserve shape.
  • Iron on low heat if needed, avoiding direct contact with prints or embroidery.
  • Do not dry clean unless the care label specifically allows it.

Sweatshirts and hoodies may use cotton-poly blends or other product-specific materials. Check each product page for exact care guidance.

T-shirts

  • Machine wash cold, inside out, with similar colours.
  • Use mild detergent and avoid harsh chemicals.
  • Tumble dry low or air dry flat for best results.
  • If ironing is needed, use low heat and avoid direct contact with the graphic.
  • Do not dry clean printed T-shirts unless the care label says otherwise.

Caps and hats

Caps, dad hats, trucker hats and snapbacks

  • Spot clean with a damp cloth and mild soap.
  • Do not machine wash unless the product page specifically allows it.
  • Do not tumble dry.
  • Air dry naturally and reshape while damp if needed.
  • Avoid direct heat while drying.

Beanies and soft hats

  • Hand wash cold where recommended.
  • Do not wring or twist aggressively.
  • Press excess water gently with a towel.
  • Lay flat to air dry.

Embroidered products

  • Wash inside out on a gentle cycle when machine washing is allowed.
  • Avoid wringing or twisting embroidered areas.
  • Air dry where possible to help preserve thread texture.
  • If ironing is needed, use low heat and place a cloth between the iron and embroidery.
  • Do not apply steam or direct high heat to embroidery.

If a product includes both print and embroidery, follow the more delicate care instructions.

Tote bags

Tote bag care depends on the material and print method. Some printed tote bags may be machine washable, while structured or heavy canvas-style bags may require spot cleaning.

  • Always check the product page for the specific tote bag care instructions.
  • Remove all items before cleaning.
  • For machine-washable printed totes: wash cold, max 30°C / 90°F, gentle cycle.
  • Use non-chlorine bleach only if the product page allows it.
  • Tumble dry low only when the product-specific instructions allow it.
  • Do not iron printed tote bags unless explicitly allowed.
  • For structured canvas or embroidered tote bags: spot clean with mild soap and air dry.
  • Do not overload beyond normal everyday use.

Removing common stains

Stain type Recommended action
Coffee or tea Blot gently with cold water and mild detergent. Avoid heat before the stain is treated.
Oil or grease Apply a small amount of mild dish soap, let it sit briefly, then rinse cold.
Ink Blot carefully. Avoid rubbing. Test any stain treatment on a hidden area first.
Makeup Blot gently with a damp cloth and mild soap. Do not scrub printed artwork.
Wine Blot immediately, rinse with cold water and wash according to the product care instructions.

FAQ

Will my ToldPrint™ garments shrink?

Some shrinkage may occur depending on the fabric and wash method. Washing cold and avoiding high heat can help reduce shrinkage.

Can I use bleach or strong stain removers?

Avoid bleach and aggressive chemicals unless the product page specifically allows them. Strong chemicals can damage fibres, prints and embroidery.

How should I care for caps?

Most caps should be spot cleaned with mild soap and air dried. Do not machine wash or tumble dry unless the product page specifically allows it.

Can tote bags be machine washed?

Some printed tote bags may be machine washable, while structured canvas or embroidered bags may require spot cleaning. Always follow the product-specific care instructions.

What if my item has both print and embroidery?

Use the more delicate care method: gentle wash, inside out, low heat or air drying, and no direct ironing over the design.
